Native Californian Amy Brownson Donato has shown a keen talent for costume design and construction since the tender age of twelve, when she won the national sewing contest sponsored by the Girls Club of America.

Brownson Donato went on to work in Paris and Boston as head of the couture department for fashion designer Geoffrey B. Small. In 1996, she designed the costumes for Finn Taylor's Dream with the Fishes. She has since been living in Los Angeles, working with such celebrities as Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Courtney Love and Gwen Stefani. She has also done costume design on feature films, including Playing Mona Lisa, and has just completed work on Jesus Is Coming, starring Ron Pearlman and Paige Moss.
